Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is seeking an experienced CPA for our Assistant Controller opening. The ideal candidate is experienced in the manufacturing industry, with extensive cost accounting and knowledge of corporate tax.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and publishing of financial statements, budgets, and other reports
  • Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including payroll and monthly reconciliations
  • Assist in preparing for our annual review, benefit plan audits, and multi-state income tax returns filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Work with Operations to identify and correct inventory issues; suggest and implement procedures to eliminate or reduce discrepancies in the future
  • Assist Controller in standard monthly reports for internal use
  • Support day-to-day activities of the Finance department, such as accounts payable, billings and collections, and payroll
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve overall operational efficiency
  • Coordinate with Operations for the annual physical inventory
  • Analyze and report on revenue and cost variances
  • Support the development and performance management of the Finance team
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, MBA strongly preferred; CPA required
  • Minimum of seven years of progressive general and cost accounting in a manufacturing setting with proven supervisory experience and advanced knowledge of accounting principles
  • Strong manufacturing ERP/PC skills with ability to create and modify complex Excel spreadsheets
  • Public Accounting experience
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Computer proficiency and a high level of organization with clear attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Highly organized with the ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Ability to work onsite from our facility located at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway in Verona, WI

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of finance management, including payroll processing, risk minimization planning, and opportunity forecasting
  • High level of planning and organizational skills, including the ability to provide clear direction, delegate appropriately, and remove obstacles to achieve department and company goals
  • Prior knowledge and experience with the management of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
  • Professional oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate across various levels of the organization
  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems technology and how to leverage within the business
  • Regular budget consolidation and cash-flow management knowledge
