X-ES Announces XPort6103, a Rugged Half-Terabyte (512 GB) Solid State Disk XMC with Data Encryption

Extreme Engineering Solutions, Inc. (X-ES) announces the immediate availability of the XPort6103, a conduction- or air-cooled Solid State Disk (SSD) XMC module that provides up to 512 GB, or a half terabyte (½ TB), of storage capacity with data encryption. With the ability to operate in demanding MIL-STD-810F environments that include harsh temperatures and rigorous shock and vibration conditions, the XPort6103 is well-suited to rugged, deployed, military applications with secure storage requirements.

The XPort6103 is available with the option to provide 256-bit AES encryption, up to a capacity of 256 GB. The encryption chip used on XPort6103 is NIST- and CSE-certified. The XPort6103 supports enhanced erases, meeting both the DOD NISPOM 5220.22 and NSA/CSS 9-12 specifications.

The XPort6103 features include:

  • XMC PCIe x1 interface
  • XMC SATA interface (optional)
  • Up to 512 GB capacity (appears as two 256 GB drives)
  • 256-bit AES encryption (optional)
  • Declassification via hardware or software control
  • ATA Secure Erase support
  • 100,000 program/erase cycles
  • -40°C to +85°C operating temperature range

The XPort6103 provides best-in-class performance, with up to 200 MB/s sustained sequential read performance and 120 MB/s sustained sequential write performance.
