Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to lead a variety of maintenance activities at our state-of-the-art office and manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will help carry out the preventative maintenance program and will conduct wide-ranging upkeep and repair actions on laboratory testing machinery, building infrastructure, safety systems, and ancillary production support equipment. The 125,000 square feet facility contains light manufacturing, providing a clean and quiet work environment. X-ES primarily operates on the first shift, with limited weekend activity.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of hands-on tasks including equipment installation, valve repairs, machine servicing, component replacement, wiring repair, general building systems maintenance, and operation of shop machines
  • Prioritize and distribute work assignments to allocated staff, ensuring proper documentation is recorded in the CMMS (Maintenance Connection)
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical problems
  • Create purchase order requisitions for repair parts and service labor
  • Coordinate responses to routine and emergency repair requests, manage special projects, and ensure completion of scheduled preventive maintenance
  • Manage applicable budgets for equipment repairs, parts, and supplies effectively
  • Review and recommend maintenance contracts from external contractors
  • Collaborate with equipment manufacturer representatives to conduct repairs and major PMs

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited high school (or valid General Educational Development certificate)
  • Minimum of three (3+) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to safely lift as much as 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of insurance are required due to work-related supply pick-ups (mileage is reimbursed)
  • Mechanical aptitude with prior knowledge and experience using hand and power tools
  • Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills
  • Strong initiative and follow-through
  • Computer proficiency and a high level of organization with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Available to be on-call in case of maintenance emergencies
  • Ability to work onsite from our facility located at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway in Verona, WI

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance or an applicable technical field
  • Five (5+) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with cryogenic systems or HVAC servicing equipment is a plus
  • High level of mechanical aptitude and knowledge using hand and power tools
  • Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills
  • Working knowledge of regulatory standards such as OSHA
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, diagrams, electrical schematics, blueprints, and more
