Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is seeking a Test Engineering Co-Op to assist with aspects of hardware/software testing related to ensuring that X-ES products meet functional requirements and specifications. Responsibilities include developing, releasing, and executing testing for X-ES products. You’ll be exposed to test infrastructure and development practices and major embedded industry technologies to create solutions in our engineering and manufacturing facility.

This position is full-time and in-person at our Verona, WI facility for January–August of 2025. This typically requires students to take a semester off of school to accommodate.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with:
    • Linux build systems
    • Bootloaders
    • Bash
  • An ability to speak to an audience (4–8 people)
  • Basic understanding of how to use/operate test equipment (oscilloscope, digital multimeter, arbitrary function generators, programmable power supplies, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems systematically

Required Skills

  • Has an experience level equivalent to that of a Junior in university enrolled in a CS/CE/EE/Physics/BioMed/Aerospace program
  • Working towards a Bachelor or Master’s degree (must remain a student for the duration of the co-op)
  • Basic circuit analysis
  • Organizational skills that manifest as an ability to concisely document/communicate what was done
  • Multitasking-oriented mindset
  • Collaborative personality
  • Basic understanding of digital logic
  • Troubleshoot/debug issues and fix bugs as they arise (hardware- and software-oriented)
  • Familiarity with:
    • Git
    • Linux
    • Python
