Several Extreme Engineering Solutions, Inc. (X-ES) systems have recently been flight qualified and are deployed in military aircraft. Systems based on X-ES’ XPand3200 Series and XPand4201 ½ ATR enclosures and conduction-cooled 3U VPX compute and storage hardware are recent examples of X-ES integrated systems that have been flight qualified by X-ES customers and are actively flying in military aircraft. Prior to X-ES customers conducting their qualification, these systems undergo extensive environmental (MIL-STD-810) and EMI (MIL-STD-461) testing by X-ES.
“Our in-house test capabilities reduce risk during independent testing” states Bret Farnum, VP of Sales and Marketing, X-ES. “A customer recently told me that because X-ES did such a thorough job of qualification testing, they were able to easily complete their flight qualification.”
X-ES’ in-house testing lab and experienced test engineers perform a wide variety of qualification testing, including shock and vibration, temperature, humidity, combined temperature and vibration, combined humidity, altitude, and temperature (HAT), and EMI/EMC testing. X-ES has experience testing for compliance to standards common for system- and board-level qualification, including MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, and DO-160. By performing this level of testing, X-ES makes it easy for customers to successfully complete their flight qualification process.
