X-ES Introduces Single XMC/PrPMC Supporting Three NXP (Freescale) QorIQ Processor Families

Extreme Engineering Solutions, Inc. (X-ES) announces the availability of the XPedite5400, an air-cooled XMC/PrPMC module that supports the NXP (formerly Freescale) QorIQ P3, P4, and P5 processor families. The XPedite5400 joins the existing XPedite550x line of XMC/PrPMC modules, which support the NXP QorIQ P1 and P2 processor families. The complete line of QorIQ XMC/PrPMC modules provides processor mezzanine solutions that span a broad spectrum of embedded applications and satisfy a wide range of power, performance, and feature requirements.

The XPedite5400 supports five processors across the QorIQ P3, P4, and P5 processor families. These include the P4040 processor with four Power Architecture® e500mc cores at up to 1.5 GHz, the P4080 processor with eight Power Architecture® e500mc cores at up to 1.5 GHz, the P3041 processor with four Power Architecture® e500mc cores at up to 1.5 GHz, the P5010 processor with one 64-bit Power Architecture® e5500 core at up to 2 GHz, and the P5020 processor with two 64-bit Power Architecture® e5500 cores at up to 2 GHz.

The XPedite5400 features include:

  • NXP (formerly Freescale) QorIQ P4080 processor with eight Power Architecture® e500mc cores at up to 1.5 GHz (alternate processors P3041, P4040, P5010, P5020)
  • Two channels of DDR3-1333 ECC SDRAM, up to 8 GB (4 GB each)
  • Up to 16 GB of user flash and 256 MB of boot flash (with redundancy)
  • Three Gigabit Ethernet ports
  • x4 PCI Express interface to P15 and two SATA 3 Gb/s ports to XMC site
  • Linux, Wind River VxWorks, and Green Hills INTEGRITY BSPs
